The Danny Buderus Super Clinic returns in its third year with the Newcastle Knights’ Club legend heading out to the grass roots of rugby league to mentor young rugby league players in regional communities.

The event has evolved since its inception in Newcastle and has taken to the road to bring clinics to the regional communities of Taree and Aberdeen.

For the first time the football clinics will be conducted for junior players between the ages of 6 and 12-years-old as well as senior players between 13 and 17 years.

Junior clinics will incorporate skills and games whilst the senior clinic will take a pure rugby league core skill and individual positional focus incorporating small group coaching with Danny Buderus and the implementation of skill games.

Buderus is thrilled to expand the reach of his clinics in 2014 by including the new locations.

“I’ve tried to hit some real grassroots areas that mean a lot to me,” he said.

“The pathway to be a Knight from those areas is what I’m focusing on.

“I want to get people enthusiastic about being a skillful player.”

Coaching seminars will also be held with Buderus at each location late in the afternoon with the opportunity for local junior and senior club coaches to listen to the ex-Australian representative provide an insight into coaching different skills of the game. Players will then learn how to implement those skills in a practical game based environment.

Registrations are now open for the skills clinics.

  •   July 7th - McKinnon Field Aberdeen
  •  July 10th- Jack Neill Oval Taree
  •  July 11th- No 2 Sports Ground Newcastle
