They've just claimed the Club's first minor premiership in the Harold Matthews ranks for over a decade, but the Newcastle Knights Under 16s refuse to let hype get in the way of their ultimate goal of winning the title.
The Harold Matthews side recorded a dominant 68-0 thrashing of the Melbourne Storm on Saturday to confirm the Knights' first minor premiership in the age division since 2002.
Fullback Matt Cooper, halfback Brendan O'Hagan and prop Brodie Jones all scored doubles in the impressive victory.
Coach Tony Gleeson is rapt with the final result and minor premiership, but knows his side can't afford to get carried away just yet because they've still got a month of finals football ahead of them.
"Our focus wasn't on winning the minor premiership, it was just about playing the best footy that we were capable of," Gleeson says.
"That's going to be the same theme coming into the finals series as well.
"So instead of worrying too much about the end result, let's just keep working hard and on little areas and that's worked really well for them."
The Knights meet Canberra in the opening week of the finals at Campbelltown Stadium in Sydney on Saturday.
Gleeson concedes he doesn't know too much about the Raiders, but says his side will be ready for battle.
"I've only seen a bit of them, but they seem to have a fairly good structure and they've got some good individuals," he says.
"They've got a very good hooker who moves well and he has got a good passing game. They've also got a good halfback and fullback, but our main focus will be on ourselves.
"They've been playing a really good brand of footy at the moment, so they are enjoying themselves.
"That (the minor premiership) is just one of those milestones they've been able to reach this year after putting in a really good effort, both at training and on the paddock.
"So it's a good reward for them."
The Club's SG Ball side are also finals bound after an impressive 24-12 win over the Storm.
Centres Callan Edwards and Braden Robson both scored tries, while five-eighth Brock Lamb and back-rower Ryan Glanville also crossed for four-pointers.
The Under 18s outfit also meets Canberra in the first week of the finals at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday.
Knights CEO Matt Gidley praised both teams for their achievements so far this season and wished them all the best for the upcoming finals series.
"On behalf of the Club I would like to congratulate the players and coaching staff on a fabulous season so far," Gidley says.
"We will be cheering the team on throughout the final series and look forward to seeing our young local talent making their way through the grades and hopefully representing the Club at NRL level in the future.
"I would also like to thank the players parents and families for their support throughout the course of the year as well."
Both the Harold Matthews and SG Ball sides will take on the Raiders in the first week of the finals at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday.
The Harold Matthews starts from 1pm, while the SG Ball kicks off at 2.30pm.
