Scott joins new teammates

For the next two days the Newcastle Knights will undergo further fitness testing in preparation for the beginning of their pre-season training on Monday.

Scott has spent the past month undergoing rehabilitation and is focused on getting his body right for the pre-season.

“I am trying to get over a little groin niggle,” Scott explained.

“I am taking it week-by-week and am trying to get it back to where it is supposed to be.

“Once the groin gets 100 per cent I will jump straight back in to full training.”

Being joined by his new teammates for the first time on Wednesday, Scott said he is looking forward to resuming full training.

"This is my first day training with the group itself and they are a great bunch of fellows,” he said.

“I already know a fair few of them and am looking forward to getting amongst it.”

Scott joins the Knights after spending the last six seasons playing for the St George-Illawarra Dragons.

“The move is easier having already been coached by Wayne (Bennett) and the current coaching staff,” the Australian and NSW Origin representative added.

“I know what to expect from his coaching style and am looking forward to it.”
