Over 500 excited Junior Members joined the Newcastle Knights first grade squad at Newcastle’s Trotting Track on Monday for the Aurizon Junior Member Clinic.
On arrival, the Junior Members were given the opportunity to have their face painted, take part in mini-rugby league games and listen to player interviews.
The budding football players were then broken up in to age groups and taken to different stations where they learnt how to kick, pass and run like their favourite Knights players.
"I have loved being part of the Clinic today, all the kids are out here and it has been a great day," Jeremy Smith told Knights TV.
"I was on the catch pass drill and did a bit of ball handling and played a few games.
"There is a few kids that will definitely come through and play for the Knights one day."
Aurizon were also on hand to teach the Junior Members about rail safe through games and puzzles and a signing session and BBQ lunch capped off a fun-filled day.
Young Member Max was the lucky recipient of the Hart Sports giveaway which included shoulder pads, head gear and a mini goal set kindly donated by Hart Sports. He was selected for his outstanding contribution to the day.
Wet conditions in the lead up to the Clinic forced Hunter Venues to make a last minute decision to move the event from Hunter Stadium to the Trotting Track.
