The Newcastle Knights have a proud history of community support and engagement.
We aim to give back as much as we can to our region, and to use rugby league to help and encourage those who need it most.
Everyday we are truly inspired by the people we meet and the opportunities we are given to make a difference.
Community & Charity Support Activities
Newcastle Knights’ community programs focus on four key areas – charity, education, culture, junior development – and support four charity causes – children & young people, health & well-being, welfare/relief of poverty, emergency services.
Our activities include, for example: support of charity and community fundraising events; advocacy and awareness raising; donation of player and coaching staff time (including the Captains' Foundation); donation of merchandise; donation of tickets to matches; schools programs; junior development and elite pathways programs.
For 2013, the Newcastle Knights charity partners are:
1. John Hunter Children’s Hospital www.kaleidoscope.org.au
2. Ronald McDonald House, Newcastle www.rmhc.org.au
3. Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Newcastle www.rescuehelicopter.com.au
Match Day Activities
Every Newcastle Knights home game we donate tickets and corporate facilities to help support local charities and other important community initiatives. We also provide opportunities for these organisations to promote and raise awareness of their cause and its relevancy to our lives.
