Brian Smith - Head Coach
 
One of the most experienced coaches in the NRL, Smith's career began in 1978.
A respected clubman, Brian's attention to all grades was most obvious at his previous club, Parramatta, guiding the Eels to eight of the last nine Club Championships.
Brian joins the Newcastle Knights with a real passion to take the team to the next level and develop the junior talent the region is famous for producing.

Rick Stone - First Grade Assistant Coach
 

A born and bred Novocastrian, Rick Stone played for South Sydney from 1988 – 1990. After an illustrious coaching career with the Burleigh Bears in the Queensland State Cup competition, Rick joined the Knights last season as NRL Assistant Coach.

With a strong background in defensive strategies and a good rapport with the coaching staff, Rick retains his position under new head coach, Brian Smith.

 
   
         
 
Scott Dickinson - Performance Manager
 

Scott was recruited from the Queensland Academy of Sport in 2005, continuing an outstanding career working with athletes from a range of sports, including Andrew Johns and David Seage.

He's responsible for the physical preparation of all the club's athletes including strength, power, speed and fitness levels.

His success with the Club last year reduced the number of injuries tenfold from the previous year.

 
   
         
 
Trent Robinson - Premier League Coach 
 

After stints in France and England, Trent is an up and coming coach with a bright future.
He was Club Captain of Balmain at the age of 23 showing his maturity at such a young age.
Well respected, Trent brings a great attitude to the club after a coaching stint in France and is looking forward to the opportunity to progress his career with the Newcastle Knights.

Mick Reid - Strength and Conditioning Coach 


Mick Reid replaces club stalwart, Billy Peden as the Knights Strength and Conditioning Coach.

A former Canterbury player and Knights Old Boy, Mick will work in tandem with Scott Dickinson ensuring the players are in peak condition throughout the Football season.

 
   
         
 
Adrian Brough - Rehabilitation Coordinator


Filling the role as the Rehabilitation Coordinator, Adrian is responsible for managing the club's injured players.

He provides the key link between the medical and conditioning staff and oversees the progression from the immediate post-injury state to a return to full training.

Since joining the Knights Brough has been a key success getting the players back on the field.

 
   
         
 
Graham Perkins - Head Trainer


As Head Trainer, Graham is responsible for ensuring that all training needs for players and staff are maintained and organised.

He also manages a team of part time trainers who ensure the club's level of professional medical and training support is at the required level.

 
   
         
 
Brett Taylor - Junior Strength & Conditioning Coach


After working part time last year Brett's role is now a full time job coordinating the strength and conditioning for the juniors.

Working alongside Dickinson, Brett oversees the performance side of the junior teams in the club.

Brett's Knowledge in Human Movement and Sports Science will ensure the juniors are physically ready for the step up to senior football.

 
   
         
 
Gary Callaghan & John Thomas - First Grade Team Managers

The Team Managers are involved in the day-to-day hands-on issues that arise quite frequently.
Specifically their roles include:

Ensuring players' requirements are met on training and game days.
Game travel details - departure and arrival times.
Hotel check-ins as well as any issue that may arise and not fall under the responsibility of other coaching staff.
