NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS & NEWCASTLE REBELS OPPORTUNITIES

REPRESENTATIVE and TALENT DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS

With the nib Newcastle Knights and Newcastle Rebels contesting similar programs in 2018 the structure aims to provide a uniformed and integrated approach to initial trials, training and final squad selection.

Rugby League participants across Australia and New Zealand are eligible for selection in Knights’ squads whilst Rebels selection is exclusive to players from within Newcastle and Maitland & District Junior Rugby League Associations.

Representative and Talent Development Pathways programs provide distinct career path opportunities for players, coaches, support staff, match officials and administrators. In doing so, they acknowledge the passion and determination of local clubs and their highly valued volunteer workers.

In preparation for 2018 season applications are now being received for the following:

nib NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS

U16 HAROLD MATTHEWS & U18 SG BALL COMPETITIONS

NEWCASTLE REBELS

U16 RON LANESBURY CUP & U18 TOM NELSON SHIELD COMPETITIONS

Roles available include:

COACH: Minimum NRL Senior Club Coach (Level 2) Accreditation

ASSISTANT COACH: Minimum NRL Senior Club Coach (Level 2) Accreditation

TEAM MANAGER: Relevant experience at similar level including District Reps/ Development

MEDICAL TRAINER (ORANGE SHIRT): NRL Sports Trainers Level 2

SPORTS TRAINER (BLUE SHIRT): NRL Sports Trainer Level 1

TRAINER (YELLOW SHIRT): NRL Sports Trainer Level 1 (NSWRL HM & SG B), Leaguesafe (CRL)

Applicants are to have completed relevant Working with Children Check and any

Accreditation required must be current and up to date and presented as part of application.

Applicants must be willing to commence official duties in October 2017 and have a minimum commitment of attending training sessions, trials and competition matches as required.

Professional development sessions will begin in June
